General Description:  The tree grows wild over most of the temperate regions of the Earth and the berries are bitter and used in flavouring gin, liqueurs and cordials. The oil is made in two ways: a small amount is produced by a machine that shakes the tree and collects the berries and twigs. By far the largest amount of oil is produced as a by-product of the gin industry. The mash is steam distilled to provide the oil
