General Description: Plai is a  Biennial plant with a rhizome and look plump large areas in a short greenish yellow flesh has a mild odour.  Leaves alternate sides of the oblong-shaped tapered width from 3.5 to 6.0 cm long, 18-38 cm of the leaf blade pointed, rounded or curved shape. heart bouquet of flowers from underground rhizomes. The rhizomes of variant 'Roxburgh' is used medicinally in massage and even in food in Thailand  In aromatherapy, plai oil is used as an essential oil and is believed to ease pain and inflammation.
